I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I aim to produce research with practical implications that can assist policymakers, governmental agencies, managers, and other researchers. My research primarily focuses on multistate taxation, with an emphasis on examining fiscal outcomes, taxpayer decision-making, and firms’ investment behavior. I am also interested in the intersection between taxes and ESG, as well as government accounting and finance. I have used both archival and field experimentation methods. 

I earned my PhD in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a B.S. in Business and Master of Accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I also worked professionally as a CPA for six years performing state & local tax compliance and consulting services, mostly at EY in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Beyond academia and tax research, my interests include fitness, music, podcasts, traveling, sports, pickleball, spending time outdoors, and reluctantly providing free tax advice to friends and family. Prior to joining the PhD program, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training course in Charlotte, NC, and a 50-hour Budokon Yoga teacher training course in London, UK.
